Gildemaster Spice Co. Café and Restaurant to Open Soon at Tee Pee Café Location

“Really consistent and really good quality,” is how new restaurateurs describe their vision of Gildemaster Spice Co. Café & Restaurant, formerly known as the Tee Pee Café.

Lafe and Heather Gildemaster became owners of this long-standing Bonesteel business on November 1. While the name may be changing, they want to assure the community that the café vibe isn’t going anywhere.

“Breakfast is really what sets that café feel,” comments Lafe. They will continue to offer a breakfast menu beginning at 7:00 a.m. as well as the addition of a variety of homemade baked goods.

What visitors also have to look forward to is a focus on smoked meats and a varied supper menu that can be paired with a cold beer. Brisket, ribs, pulled pork and wings just to name a few.

Gildemaster Spice Co. originated around a year ago with an already successful signature barbeque sauce and a variety of spices in the works. That passion will drive a lot of the menu at the restaurant and even “act as a testing ground” for new ideas, Lafe mentions.

While the name on the building may be changing, the Tee Pee Café will remain a part of the business with it’s namesake burger holding a spot on the menu, and even a bit of memorabilia showing up around the dining room.

The Gildemaster’s are excited to start this new venture in Bonesteel and ask for the community’s patience as they prepare the business to reopen. “We will not open unless we are certain we can provide a level of food quality and service that is up to our standards,” says Heather.

As the old saying goes, all good things come to those who wait. Residents and neighbors alike are ready to grab a bite and brew at Gildemaster Spice Co. Café & Restaurant. Welcome to Bonesteel!

Lafe and Heather Gildemaster of Gregory, SD purchased Bonesteel’s Tee Pee Café and will reopen soon under the Gildemaster Spice Co. name.
